Ya, me too…many times. It’s crazy how long it took me to recognize that it wasn’t me, or necessarily what I had to offer, that was the problem…it was the strategy. But that didn’t keep me from feeling like a failure, anyway! Can you relate? But here’s the problem—passion alone isn’t a business strategy. This week, I tackled some of the most toxic business advice I’ve ever heard, including the idea that all you need is passion, or that working harder (instead of smarter) is the key to success. For over a decade, I believed that struggle was just part of the deal—that success had to come with stress, long hours, and constant overwhelm. But eventually, I realized something game-changing: the biggest reason that belief was true… was because I chose to believe it. TSA Weekly: A Great Reminder... read on kellylgabel.com | March 12, 2025 Hi there, Reader! 🧠 Thought of the Week When I started my YouTube channel a few years ago, I hit that first ‘publish’ button and braced for the expected onslaught of negativity and trolling. If I’m honest, the expectation of negative comments held me back from starting my channel in the first place (well, that and the fact that I didn’t think there was any chance I could actually be consistent with creating and posting content). It’s been a little over two years now, and while I have had my share of troll comments here and there, the actual feedback has been overwhelmingly positive! Not only that, I have watched my business grow like crazy since I took the risk of putting myself out there (you might actually only be reading this because of it). What a lovely surprise! I think that’s why I was caught off guard last week when I finally saw someone comment a negative opinion of me. Not a troll, not something I could just delete and brush off, but an actual, thoughtful, and not-so-positive opinion. Of course it stung at first, but it was a great reminder to me that…ya know what? Not everyone is going to love me…and that’s ok! It prompted me to use one of my favorite quotes for this week’s episode of the podcast. Have you watched/listened yet?
